The professional staff of the museum offers a research service for those
who cannot visit the museum in person. (See fee schedule) Both
Genealogical and Historical searches require a signed request form
before research can begin. Use separate forms if searching for more
than one family or historical topic. A minimum fee of $10.00 (1 hour)
must accompany the original request. A bill for the cost of copies,
mailing and any additional authorized time spent will be enclosed with
the completed research packet. Genealogical Research: A free one-half hour preliminary search is provided to make certain further research is merited. Adequate background information is needed for the preliminary search to succeed. Historical Research: Provide as much background information as possible to help narrow the scope of the search. The staff will NOT write research papers, but will try to help you find documentation for historical events and/or places within Marshall County if it is available. |
